Motti Vaknin
Chairman of the Board
A serial entrepreneur, Motti brings deep knowledge of the U.S. and Israeli enterprise software arena and offers his expertise as an accomplished entrepreneur and CEO. Prior to Cedar, Mr. Vaknin served as CEO of BelnSync where he orchestrated its turnaround and acquisition by Phoenix Technologies (PTEC). He has also served as CEO and co-founder of WebLayers, and one of Cedar's Pre-Seed investments. Before that, Mr. Vaknin founded and held the position of CEO at Bridges for Islands (acquired by Attunity Ltd.) and was VP Sales and Marketing at Shiron Satellite Communication. Prior to Shiron, Motti was a technology and market information specialist. Mr. Vaknin uses his expertise in the software area to focus on enterprise software, SaaS and Internet opportunities.

Jeff Papows
Director
With more than 25 years of industry experience, Papows has a proven history of success in both emerging companies and global organizations. Most notably, Papows was president and CEO of Lotus Development Corporation where he is widely credited for taking Lotus Notes from its initial release to sales of more than 70 million copies worldwide, making it the leading collaboration platform. Upon the acquisition of Lotus, Papows helped steer the company’s successful integration into IBM. Papows was also president of Cognos Corporation, taking the business intelligence software provider from its early stages to sustained profitability, a successful public offering and years of continued growth that met or exceeded market expectations. Most recently, Papows was the president and CEO of Maptuit, a provider of real-time commercial navigation software. Having led Maptuit to profitability and a market leadership position, Papows will continue as Chairman of the Board.

Geoffrey Oblak

General PartnerGeoff has fourteen years of experience investing in early stage information technology companies, including eleven years at Ascent. Prior to joining Ascent, Geoff served as an Investment Analyst in the Boston office of Norwest Venture Partners, where he researched emerging technology markets and worked on successful investments such as Quatritek Systems (acquired by Lucent) and Nashoba Networks (acquired by Cisco). Prior to Norwest, he worked in the Audit/Business Advisory division of Arthur Andersen, LLP, where he was sponsored by the firm in an accelerated MBA program. Current board seats: ClickFox, Exchange Solutions, Fidelis Security, Forefield, Guardium, V.i. Labs and WebLayers. Geoff was recently selected to serve as an independent consultant to the Department of Defense Venture Catalyst Initiative (DeVenCI). Geoff is a CPA and holds a CFA Charter. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. BA in Economics from Hamilton College. MBA from Boston University. Gill Zaphrir
Partner
Gill has R&D and management experience in Israel's Air Force and aerospace industry. Prior to joining Veritas in 1999, he headed the R&D Department of the Israel Air Force. Gill was born and raised in Israel, served as a military aviator in the Israel Air Force and is a Colonel (reserve). Gill is a board member of Guardium Inc., WebLayers Inc. and Sirica Ltd. He holds a B.Sc. in aeronautical engineering from the Technion in Haifa and an MBA from Bar-Ilan Business School in Israel.

Dorin Miller
A venture partner with Cedar Fund, Ms. Miller brings to Cedar extensive startup and corporate IT operational experience. Prior to joining Cedar Fund, Ms. Miller was VP of Marketing and New Business for Memco Software (Nasdaq: MEMCF) a successful Israeli software startup providing enterprise information security solutions. Before Memco, Ms. Miller spent five years as a senior IT consultant working for major Wall Street banks in New York. She started her career in the Israeli Navy, where she served for four years as a computer programmer and technology specialist. Ms. Miller focuses on opportunities in enterprise software.
