WebLayers Announces Ido Sarig as Strategic Advisor
Former VP of Technology Strategy for Mercury and Board Member of Infravio
Cambridge, MA, December 6, 2006 – WebLayers, the market leader for automated SOA Governance, today announced Ido Sarig has joined WebLayers as a Strategic Advisor. In this capacity, Ido will provide strategic guidance as WebLayers capitalizes on the rapidly growing market for automated governance solutions.

Ido is a Venture Partner with Thomas Weisel Venture Partners focused on enterprise and infrastructure software. Prior to TWVP, Ido was Vice President of technology strategy for Mercury where he was charged with formulating the company's technology roadmap, and searching for and evaluating new technologies and business opportunities for Mercury. Under his leadership and direction, Mercury acquired Kintana, Appilog, Performant and Allerez in 2003 -2004. Sarig joined Mercury in 1990 as a software engineer and moved on to hold various management and executive positions over the past ten years. Past positions at Mercury include posts in the United States, Europe and Israel, including vice president of product marketing for the APM business unit, director of strategic alliances and director of European marketing. As vice president of product marketing for the APM business unit, he successfully launched Topaz, the first APM solution for real-time monitoring of a user's experience on the Web.
He was also a Board member of Infravio (now WebMethods), and served on the advisory board of Confluent Software (now Oracle).
