WebLayers Extends SOA Policy Management Across Oracle SOA Suite

Latest release of WebLayers Center helps Oracle Customers Automate SOA Governance to Reduce the Cost and Risk

Cambridge, MA June 27, 2007 – WebLayers, the market leader for automated SOA Governance and member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, today announced the industry’s first solution for automated governance across the Oracle® SOA Suite, a complete set of service infrastructure components for building, deploying and managing SOAs.

WebLayers Center 4.0 automates SOA governance with the industry's only independent, cross-platform policy management solution. Based on the largest collection of pre-built policies, WebLayers' architecturally superior solution speeds governance implementation and enforcement from design-time to run-time. With today’s announcement, WebLayers Center adds integration with Oracle Application Server, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Database. Additionally, new WebLayers GovernorsTM provide Oracle-specific policy enforcement and interoperability across the SOA lifecycle by directly supporting Oracle’s SOA offering. The WebLayers Governors for Oracle SOA Suite announced today include:

  • WebLayers Governor for Oracle JDeveloper
  • WebLayers Governor for Oracle Service Registry
  • WebLayers Governor for Oracle Enterprise Service Bus
  • WebLayers Governor for Oracle Web Services Manager

“SOA policy management is a critical component to any SOA governance strategy and must be enforced throughout entire lifecycle,” said L. Frank Kenney, research director at Gartner, Inc. “Strong governance, during both design time and runtime cycles, is an essential first step to ensure a successful SOA deployment.”

WebLayers Center 4.0 is the only solution in the market that addresses policy management needs across the entire organization. To jumpstart SOA governance, WebLayers provides over 1,000 policies derived from field engagements, industry best practices, and standards bodies. The WebLayers SOA Policy Library covers all of the SOA layers including application code, services, messaging, user interface and business documents.

“With broad support across the Oracle product family, enterprises now have a comprehensive solution to govern and measure service-oriented architecture initiatives,” said Gregg Bjork, CEO of WebLayers. “By providing continuous enforcement across the entire lifecycle, WebLayers provides the visibility to identify and resolve issues as they occur. Business and technical policies can be enforced in the design and development phase to provide the necessary guidance to get it right from day one.”

Webcast to Highlight SOA Governance Solution

In support of today’s announcement, WebLayers and Oracle will deliver a webcast entitled “The Five Steps to Succeed with SOA Governance,” on Wednesday, June 27th at 2:00 EDT. The Webcast features Dan Hynes, product manager at Oracle, and Guy Loewy, CTO of WebLayers. For registration information, please click here.
