SOA Governance
from IBM and WebLayers

WebLayers and IBM have teamed to provide a comprehensive solution for SOA Governance. At the core is a tight integration between WebLayers Center and IBM’s WebSphere Service Registry and Repository. This combined solution, together with collaborative services under IBM’s SOA Governance and Management Method, delivers a comprehensive SOA Governance solution.

The WebLayers Center solution is resold by IBM Global Services.  WebLayers is also used to implement the policy aspects of the IBM SOA Governance and Management Method.

• Jump Start your SOA Initiative with Policy Libraries - Build a solid governance foundation from day one by leveraging the vast collection of policies derived from field engagements, industry best practices, and standards bodies such as W3C and WS-I. The metadata of these new services also contain information gathered from the compliance check including service quality, performance, availability and security.
• Search, Find and Use Services with Confidence - WebSphere Service Registry and Repository becomes the system of record for all services metadata within the enterprise. An application can check with the system just before it invokes a service to locate the most appropriate service that satisfies its functional and performance needs. Because the system is governed by an active policy management system from WebLayers, you can be confident that all services are in compliance and have the necessary insight into the additional metadata necessary to make an informed decision. This capability helps make your SOA deployment more dynamic and more adaptable to changing business conditions.
• Visibility and Compliance - With WebSphere Service Registry and Repository, you have clear visibility across the SOA lifecycle with services metadata information such as description of a service, the associated lifecycle state, centralized policy documents, service associations and relationships, allowing you to better align IT to meet business needs.
